Uplifting Historic Event
On Tuesday November 25, 2014 an enlightening and uplifting
historic event took place featuring some of today's Afro-American leaders from
the Los Angeles Hair Care Industry; they discuss the state of black hair care
from its modern beginning to its current place in today's society. The event
took place at the Brownstone Bistro: located at 5047 West Pico Blvd, Los
Angeles, California 90019. The sponsor and host of the event Walter Smith owner
of Smith Products Company, LLC, and distributor of The Secret Styling Quality
line of hair care products (www.secretstyling.com)
moderated the event.
Mr. Smith stated his primary purpose for organizing the
event was to open up the communication gap between local Afro-American business
owners of hair care companies and the professional hairstylists and barbers
they service within the Los Angeles and surrounding area market place. He
encouraged the audience to engage in discussions surrounding problems which
exist within the local hair care markets. It was his hope that based on those
discussions; hair care company owners would be in a better position to organize
their sales and marketing efforts to address the needs of hair stylists and
barbers for the upcoming 2015 business year.
Mr. Smith stated his secondary objective was to create
awareness of the fine food and dining experience of the Brownstone Bistro. As
well as, to introduce his guest to the unique business opportunity to
participate in creating community oriented programming, at the RMC Studio
located in the rear of the Brownstone Bistro.
The event opened with a brief introduction by Mr. Smith and
his invited panelists. Discussions then ensued centering around the event theme
- Black Hair Care- Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.
The morning session then transformed into a question and
answers session featuring invited panelists and invited guests. Panelists
included: Jerry and Lucky White owner's of Kizure Iron Works, Jacque Adamu
Stylist/Naptician, Frank Davie owner of Global Beauty Products and former owner
of Worlds of Curls Inc, Dr. Tony Lloneau owner of Lloneau Products and Don
Davidson owner of 3D Silk. Present at the event also were Corenthian Uqdah and
Dominic Uqdah owners of Ubora Hair Care Products, Isaac Suthers owner of
Hairobics Hair Care Products.
Despite the fact it was an extremely busy week and several
of the local professional cosmetologists and barbers had to cancel their
anticipated presences to accommodate their client's holiday hair styling needs.
The event was a success and the guests, loved the food.
There was videotaping of the morning session, as well as, a
studio videotaping of the afternoon session featuring the host Walter Smith and
his guest panelists only. The studio taping will be available at (http://www.rmconair.com/YouTube
Mr. Smith would like to thank all who participate in this
historic event. He would also like to thank Clive Jackson owner of the
Brownstone Bistro and Johnny Morris operation manager, Crystal Wells his
assistant and Chris Hodge engineer for RMC Studio for their services.
Plans are already underway for a follow up event, based on
request from attendees and request from hair stylists that were unable to
attend the event.
